add a second patient to the report
Objective 1- Be able to Understand how to create a new ePCR report in Fireworks.
· To create an ePCR report you will have a few options. Some of the options could automatically generate an ePCR for a CAD user or manually for departments not utilizing a CAD provider.
1. The first option is by going to the ePCR module and selecting “New ePCR” (Yellow Box)
2. The ePCR page once pulled up will appear like the screenshot below. If the department is using a CAD provider, the incident may already appear in the list. If so you will select the “Add ePCR” button highlighted in the (Red Box).
3.
The third option we have for
creating an ePCR is by selecting it from the NFIRS report. Once inside the
NFIRS report, at the top is a button that looks like the star of life (Red Box).
Clicking on this button will take you to a
page in ePCR to create a ePCR report for the specific incident you were working
on.
We recommend this option for both CAD and non-CAD users because it allows you to fill out the NFIRS information first and push some of the NFIRS data to the ePCR report automatically.
4. The final option is to access the ePCR from the main page using the ePCR go to button.
Objective 2- Be able to Understand how to complete an ePCR report in the Fireworks system.
From the main ePCR page once you have created an ePCR report for a patient you screen will look like this.
In the ePCR you have the following options:
· Incident- This will contain some NFIRS information which will pull from the NFIRS report if completed first.
o Location- Location of the Call
o NFIRS- NFIRS information from the report
o Dispatch- Dispatch reason and dispatch priority
o Unit- This will be the Unit that went to the call and was the main caregiving unit.
o Crew- Crew members that were on the call as well as a spot to record who completed the report.
o Response- What priority traffic you responded to the call as.
o Scene- Once you arrive at the scene how many patients, MCI, or MVC.
· Times- Information on the different times that you said over the radio or entered while on the call. If using a CAD provider some of these times will auto populate from the CAD file.
o Times Info- Showing all the times for the current ePCR report.
o Delays- Allows you to record any delays while on this call.
· Patient- Patient demographics will be entered in this section.
o Patient Info- You will be able to enter patient demographics including name, DOB, Address, Phone number, and email address.
o Belongings- ability to track any belongings that were given to the patient to take to hospital
o Medical History- ability to track any medical history/surgical history for the patient.
· Assessment- This section will cover all patient procedures conducted while on the call.
o Complaint- ability to list any patient medical complaints or symptoms
o Vital Signs- ability to enter vital signs for the patient including Glasgow score and pain/stroke scale.
o Cardiac Monitor- ability to enter cardiac monitor data automatically from the device or manually.
o Exam- ability to enter a head-to-toe assessment for the patient.
o Treatment- Ability to enter procedures conducted or any medications given to the patient on the call.
o Invasive Airway- ability to enter any invasive airway information.
· Disposition- Ability to track unit disposition, who transported, level of care provided type of destination. Ability to also track mileage.
· Other- this is where any other information not found in the beginning sections will go including custom fields.
o General- Ability to request a report review and put who completed the report.
o EMS Crew Exposures & PPE- Ability to track EMS crew exposures and PPE used
o File- Ability to attach files to the ePCR report
o QC- Quality control the ePCR report
o Outcome- Ability to track the outcomes of the patient through the emergency department and hospital procedures.
o Custom Fields- Ability to create and track custom fields in the ePCR module. This is used to track any information that is not prebuilt out in ePCR.
· Signatures- This section refers to gathering signatures for the report.
o Signatures- Ability to gather patient refusals, witnesses, or other information referring to signatures.
· Narrative- This section gives you the ability to record a narrative for the ePCR report.
Once you have filled out the report you will click on the orange number in the circle in the top middle to view any errors or warnings. If you have an error or warning, then you can click on that issue and it will jump you to the section in the report.
Objective 3- Be able to understand the scenarios portion.
·
The scenarios
portion gives the department the ability to build out a scenario for everyday
medical calls they run. The end user will then have the ability to click on the
scenario and Fireworks will take
and build a one-page report that the end user
will need to fill out based on parameters the System Admin put into the
scenario in the Admin side of the system.
Objective 4- Be able to Understand the checklist portion.
· Procedure Checklists give the department the ability to add, view, and download a checklist that is built out by the department.
· To Build out the procedure checklist section this will be found in the Admin Backoffice section.
Objective 5- Be able to Understand the quick actions portion.
· Quick Action sections gives the department the ability to add from the screen a procedure, patient information, vitals, signatures, critical fields, medications, crew.
· Setting up the Quick Actions section will be found in the Admin Backoffice.
Objective 6- Be able to Understand the critical fields portion.
· The Critical Field section gives the user the ability to fill out the fields that are deemed the most important for the ePCR report.
Objective 7- Be able to Understand how to add a second patient to the report.
· To add a second patient to the ePCR report you will click on the plus person icon next to critical fields. This will then add a second patient to the report.
You can then at the top left switch between the multiple patients in the same report.
Objective 8- Be able to Understand how to transfer data from one unit to another.
· To transfer the ePCR patient report to another unit, the unit has to also be on the current call as a unit. To transfer all you have to do is click transfer data at the top next to new patient and a popup will appear asking which unit the patient needs to be tied too.
ePCR Offline and Online mode
When completing an ePCR report sometimes you could lose internet connection due to being out in the field or something happens. At any point during the report if the system goes offline you can still enter the data for the report.
Once you have made it back to a stable connection you will click the online mode button which is the airplane in the top right corner. Data should be uploaded automatically. If it does not, then follow the instructions in the next line.
From here you can click the refresh button to upload data to the Fireworks cloud of information from the report.
